Cast on Melee Kill + Dominating Blow = Does it work?
Question, do these gems work together? I am a bit confused since I think you actually need to hit them with a Dominating blow BEFORE killing them in order to revive them. But Cast on Melee kill will cast the skill after they died, so my guess is that it wouldn't activate the Dominating Blow.
So I leave that question to the experts and people who have actually tried it, do they work together? Side question: What about Molten Shell with Cast on Melee Kill? Will it cast Molten Shell when I kill the enemy? Does the character do the "casting frame" while casting Molten Shell with Cast on Melee Kill? Thank you in advance! Cast on melee kill will cast a spell IIRC, when you kill them with a linked melee skill.
That means if you link a spell (fireball) with CoMK and dom blow, you will use dom blow, kill them, and then it will cast fireball. These spells cast cost no mana, and have no cast time, the trigger immediately (that means you cannot use channeled spells such as flameblast or incinerate) Correct me if im wrong. Not 100% sure on this but sin e the support is CAST on melee kill it will not work since skill you're trying to use is actually an attack and not a spell

Joe is correct. Cast on Melee Kill casts a linked Spell when you kill with a linked Attack. The key here is that the Attack triggers the Spell. You can't use a Spell to trigger a Spell or Attack, nor can you use an Attack to trigger an Attack. It only works one way (Attack -> Spell).
E: You CAN trigger Molten Shell because it is a spell. There is no cast time, just like with Cast on Damage Taken or Cast on Crit. Last edited by Bukariin#7997 on Jan 23, 2014, 1:33:52 PM

" Does this mean that if you want to use Cast on Melee Kill you need an item with more than 3 sockets? In order to link the support gem with the Attack you will use to trigger the Spell? 2 sockets would be useless with this gem, since it needs "Attack <-> Support Gem <-> Spell" is that correct? Correct Joan, have to have at least 3 link

If you have CoMK linked with DB you could do, for a 4L:
ComK + DB + Increased Duration + Immortal Call Dominating Blow has a duration and Immortal Call has a duration, so killing something with DB will result in a longer minion and a longer IC. ComK + DB + Added Fire + Ethereal Knives Again, your DB gets + fire, the minion created by DB gets added fire (I'm pretty sure on this), and EK gets added fire. Using CoMK means you may have to be creative to get the most out of your supports. Or DB + CoMK + Blind + Summon Skeletons. Not only does your DB blind your target, but the Skeletons that you summon have Blind linked to them so that other adjacent targets are getting blinded too.
Of course your damage is bound to be low, which might be problematic. That's why most people use Cast on Damage Taken instead (you don't have to link it to an attack, I use CoDT + Molten Shell + Warlord's Mark + Immortal Call). |

Any supports on DB are applied to any applicable summons.
If you have Blind on DB it will apply to your dominated minion, if you have Cast on Melee Kill.... It's linked to your summons as well as long as they attack. Personally I think Cast on Crit would be more effective, simply because there's only so many monsters you can kill. You'll get bottlenecked pretty fast. IGN - PlutoChthon, Talvathir
