Need help to find the best way to get elemental resistance

I have +12% elemental resistances from my passives and I use the following gears to get my elemental resistances to +75% at merciless.

What happens is I end up choosing gears to get elemental resistances rather than life or damage. I am sure there is a better way of getting elemental resistance. Could the more experienced players please teach me :) Thanks in advance.

There's your problem.

Although there's also a balance to be struck between spending skillpoints on resistance nodes and being tied down to resistance on equipment, 12% in nodes is pretty low.

Well you should not need even that 12% from tree.

How much dps you have as my 17k dps seems to be okay even without any gear in dps.



4k life with lightning coil seems to be enough.
17k dps with only 200dps weapons.
resists maxed even with lightning coils 60%- to lightning resists.
Just upgrade piece by piece like im doing.

Vvooee, According to tooltips, my dps with Lightning arrow is 830 and my Frenzy dps is 2745.
I have 3k life, 1k life regen/sec and 3k armor
I have both life leech (7.6%) and life gain on hit (40 LoH) on both lightning arrow and frenzy.

How did you get your DPS so high? That is another thing that I have no clue about.

12% on nodes is low? Well I have 0.. Never liked spending nodes on resist if I can help it.

You should be stacking as much resist possible on belt/armour/belt if you aren't using a specific unique or special slot for it. Your also missing the life stat, also calculate a total amount of resist a apiece gets as oppose to it being high numbers.

Also you can get high resist quivers too if you don't need a pure dps one or half and half.

How many resist nodes you need depends on the glass canon nature of your build and it's spefici mandatory gears.

What your build looks like if you have 1k life regen? and cant help with dps if i cant see the build. And there is no reason to use both life on hit and leach on same skill...

personally would switch life on hit to faster attacks or something that adds dps to the frenzy links.

Cant say anything about lightning arrow really havent played with it.

Best way to get elemental resistance:

1. Spend your entire life getting 50-60 exalted because drops suck
2. Trade for gear with life AND resistances AND damage
3. Profit
