Shock duration question
I realize shock is a buff rather than a debuff so the increased buff duration nodes don't increase shock duration. My question is about the nodes just south if the scion start the increased skill effect duration... Would this increase shock duration? Does the shock have to come from a skill? So say I'm using quality added lightning damage which provides chance to shock ad the shock comes from that... Would only shocks created from that chance be increased? Rather than shocks from the shocking nodes north of Templar land?
Basically trying to get more shock duration without having to buy thunder fists... |

Shock is a Status Ailment, not a Buff/Debuff. Regardless, as you said, those nodes won't affect it.
Shock is actually based on the amount of Lightning Damage that you do. As such, using Supports that lower the damage, like MultiStrike/LMP, actually reduce your chances of Shock[stack]ing, unless your damage is high enough [per hit] to compensate. Another thing you can do, is Temporal Chains Curse. It makes Status Ailments expire twice as slow. Though it doesn't increase the duration or likelihood of the initial Shock, just the expiration rate. As for your other question regarding "Chance to Shock", that gives ANY Lightning Damage that you do, a chance to Shock the target. If the damage isn't enough to Shock, it won't. Also, Criticals with Lightning Damage Shock by default. So if your crit is high enough, you don't necessarily need Chance to Shock. And since Crits do more damage, thus more Shock duration, Crit Multiplier is another option as far as increasing the Shock duration.
