Computer Slow-Down While Alt-Tabbed
I know that this is kind of common in video games but it's pretty bad on PoE. Granted I am using a laptop with onboard graphics (Intel HD Graphics); this may be relevant since I have a fast processor (i5) and 4 gigs of RAM. I run most games fine even with the onboard graphics and PoE actually runs pretty smoothly at low setting, great in parties of 2-3.
My main concern is that while alt tabbed, everything is very sluggish. This makes it hard to look up things on the website or mechanics related things; it's kind of a problem because I like to research for myself rather than #HEY HOW DOES X WORK GUYS HELP ME kind of messages. A temporary fix I have discovered less than an hour ago that I use is going into the skill tree screen and then alt tabbing. It completely negates the problem and allows me to run the game in the background without causing the rest of my computer to be sluggish. Just to clarify, I mean sluggish by when I mouseover onto any item, it takes about 2-3 seconds for the "mouseover highlight" effect to appear on my screen and there is a 2-3 second delay for any action I take outside of the game. I'm glad I found this temporary (and to be blunt it is very easy and out-of-the-way to just go to skill tree before alt tabbing) fix but maybe that temp fix will assist you guys in fixing the slowdown. I know onboard graphics is not optimal and I should not be catered to, but many players enjoy laptop gaming because of the convenience. Wat Last edited by Joshwaaa#0814 on Jan 26, 2013, 7:12:14 AM

Speaking of alt-tab out, is there any plans to have the sound mute when the screen is minimized?
Legacy items are BS

I've found a solution, running the game in full screen instead of Windowed-full screen will fix this. I'm thinking this somehow activates more of my cores or RAM or something like that to get the workload done.
Will have to try battles to see if I get better fps in 4-6 man parties. Would love to have an option to lower the quality just a bit so I can go from ~30 fps in towns to maybe a constant 30 fps including during battles. Still very playable for integrated graphics card, and I hope I helped any who were having this problem. Wat
