Question: Vendor Inventory Refresh

can someone provide insight on how/when vendors refresh their inventory?

Vendors refresh their inventory every you time you level up and once every 24 hours (though I'm not exactly sure when during that 24 hour period).

Do Vendors really remember what they were selling from one login to the next and thus only refresh once every 24 hours? I hadn't noticed that. must test...

The types of item they can sell is definitely adjusted upon level up. Agreed.

this is what i was wondering. based upon an item i saw last in Tarkleigh's inventory - either the exact one, or a repeat of it, was there this morning.

some new things were there so i suspect it was just a repeat of the item with same sockets. but after a couple of purchases to trade back for prismatic orbs, the inventory was definitely updated. a new version of the item with better sockets was there when i returned after throwing the orbs in my stash. it definitely was not there on first check, as i was on the lookout for the item in question. not sure if the purchase triggered it or if it was (as mentioned in thread) just lucky hitting the 24 hr refresh.

wondering if anyone knows what causes the vendor to refresh outside of level ups. I know it does since i went shopping last week without leveling but it may have been maint (server reset) or something that caused it.

I'd love to know this as well, but it sure ain't 24 hrs. I've gone days* without it having reset. Then randomly it just reset when my game client crashed yet no patch I just logged it what seems normally. So, it seems the vendor "refresh" is quite random and rare in my experience...

*I haven't touched my Shadow or leveled him for 3-4 days now and the the vendor inventory is one and the same.

I'm also interested in knowing the "outside of leveling up" refresh surcumstances of the vendor.

Has anyone got a clear explanation to this ?

Can anyone give a clear answer ? -maybe with link to somewhere it's written ? on the POE site maybe ?

The creators of the game must know.. so they have probably written it somewhere.. but it's not under the items section as far as I can tell.. I might not have seen it though, but I have read alot, and did not come upon any such detail.
