Vendor recipe as a lootable item
As the title suggests: make recipes or even just part of recipes as virtual items in game (scrolls?). I welcomed the idea to create books for passive skill quest rewards so there is an object people can have and interact with. I thought having objects for recipes for the same reason would fit in the design. As far as I know we have found almost all (I use the word "we" a bit loosely I haven't found nor will any recipe, don't have the tons of currency and other items to experiment) so we have found most of the vendor recipes so as you GGG give us more and more recipes the new ones could be so rare, that people may find out them faster than finding the actual recipe-item in game. So if this is someone's favorite thing in PoE, finding out new recipes - they won't lose that. Even more thrill for them: can I find it out faster than others finding the recipe item? Single use vendor recipes The other thing I would suggest: single use recipes. How about making a recipe that describes a rare or even a unique item and instead of listing the ingredients it lists the different random generated rare and unique bosses that have the parts of that item. This monsters are in different random locations (one in the mud flats, one in the imperial gardens, etc.) monsters for higher level items could be in different maps. After the player kills them all, the last monster drops the item and the recipe disappears. So it would add a little treasure hunt minigame in the game. Race idea Oh and how about a race following this one use recipe idea where, every participants get the same recipe at start and the one who finds/create the item first win the race? The hook Imagine finding a sroll on the floor with the name: Exalted Orb recipe (1/3)... you read the first ingredient, lets say: 20 Chaos Orb. If you find the other two scrolls for the recipe you will know the full recipe, but until that you know one part of the vendor recipe and you can start experimenting on that.
