Because it doesn't need to be kickstarted?

Because it was successfully kickstarted via pathofexile.com instead of kickstarter.com. By supporter packages.

We kickstarted this game to the tune of 2.2 million (and counting)!

Seriously, though- if the game was struggling via their home site, I'm sure they would have tried to get it kickstarted. As it stands, the game doesn't need it.

(a)The game is getting released tomorrow, kickstarter is generaly for projects just getting started.

(b)Even if GGG wanted to use Kickstarter, they can't as Kickstarter only supports projects from the United States, while GGG are from New Zealand.

yeah game don't need it and as another has said if the game was doing bad or not getting any cash flow they probably would of went to kickstarter.

No point tho because kickstarter would be taking a chunk of that 2.2mil :(. So it's awesome they managed this on there own.

Right on brother. Path of Exile is People powered!!! GGG is a awesome bunch of devs who haven't forgotten who they are and where they come from.

This game will succeed because it is not only great, but it will also succeed because the People want it to! This is the game so many of us have been waiting years for! And this is the customer service and company this industry so desperately needs right now.

I know times are tough, But I hope people who can give, will give something back to these great devs.

I can't thank them enough for this game!!!! No the game isn't perfect, it's just really really damn good and only getting better! I hope GGG will keep up the great customer service and never forget they are gamers too!!!

Just the account making it has to be from the US as far as I know. Star citizen is being made in the UK and the US and was on kickstarter and there have been others being made outside of the US.

Kickstarter and Amazon (payment) charges together about 9% of total pledged sum. It is A LOT. This is quite better and they only pay for payment charges, so saves about 5 to 7%. It is not bad amount in 2 millions :-)

Perhaps companies dont want kickstarter taking a 5% cut unless they really NEED it to finnish a game. What a large amount of people seem to forget when touting the greatness of kickstarter is this line taken firectly from thier own FAQ.
