Cast when damage taken for ranger questions

Im a 62 ranger, interested in getting a cast when damage taken gem and linking it with something like enduring cry or decoy totem.

I heard this interaction got nerfed somehow. Is it still worthwhile mid to late game? Do I level the Cast gem? Do I level the decoy and enduring gems? Is cast when damage taken linked to spell totem linked to skeleton totem better? How does that interaction work? Any advice is appreciated

Or I could ask the wonderful community I've heard so much about. You are not a shining example

It's still worth it mid to late game. As you level the CwDT gem, the amount of damage you need to take for it to trigger increases, but so does the level of gem it can support. My Incinerate Scion uses it with Enduring Cry and Molten Shell, and I have CwDT taken leveled to 14 or 15 and I need to take about 1,500 damage for it to trigger. This is good for me as I leech so much life I rarely see my health bar drop. You may want to keep it at a lower level depending on how often you need it to trigger. Keeping in mind that the level of Enduring Cry or Decoy Totem will need to be kept low as well.

for a ranged CoDT + FrostWall is GODSEND and totally underated...

its OP... i'm not kidding there...

frostwall spawn under mob that hitted you when codt procced this include ranged hit...

frostwall block both movement and projectile and mobs AI seem to go crazy when this occurs (pathfinding suck lol)

this let you plenty of time to fall back or gun them :)

i'm using it on my freezing pulser and it saved my life numerous time
