Fishing - Is it in the game?

Have been reading and hearing things about fishing in the game. In fact, yesterday I saw a post discussing how you can obtain fishing poles as a rare drop, and then you can actually use those poles to fish, and if you're super lucky you'll obtain a "rare fish" which grants access to Act 3 (which is unobtainable otherwise, at least until Open Beta). I seriously can't tell if fishing is an actual mechanic in the game that is just never discussed / explained on the wiki, or if it's this game's unique trollish theme (DayZ has beans, WoW has the troll race, etc.).

Honestly, if you haven't found the rod yet, it's probably a waste of time trying to find one before OB. Bow fishing with split arrow is something you can start doing right now without any special equipment, so you should probably just do that instead of wasting time looking for the fishing rod mob.

It is indeed real you first need to find the super rare fishing poles in the game, after that you need a albino rhoa feather...can be found from the super rare albino rhoas

I'm still having issues in deciphering your posts (are you guys trolling?) but then I saw that link, and saw a moderator actually provide a screenshot of fish and fishing poles and the like, therefore I guess it's plausible.

Would a moderator, and Chris himself troll you? No way dude, you're clearly paranoid.

There is a lot of conflicting information, partly because the mob is so rare, and partly because the few that have found it deliberately try to throw people off so they can have it all to themselves.

Again, the easiest, simplest method to start fishing that you can go to try right now:

Make a bow character and get Split Arrow. Stand next to any area with pools of water (the edge of Pools and Streams is where I caught most of my fish), and just shoot into the water. Could catch something really quickly, or it could take a couple of hours. Either way, if you get a good catch, it will be totally worth it.

Seriously dude, I can understand you wanting to keep all the fish to yourself, but by trying to fool him into thinking there isn't really fishing in the game, you're depriving him of all the cool stuff you can get from fishing. The OP asked an honest question, so we should try to help him out, not throw him off by pretending it isn't real when it so clearly is.
