I'm so confused and new. Don't hurt me...tabula rasa simple robe....

I can't find any useful info on this. I see people trying to sell it and preach with it. I'm new and just trying to have some fun and looking at this I would like some pointers or info.

...oh, and another thing I just thought of. The Moonstone ring that is being rewarded in the Racing league, can someone point me in the direction of info on that. I've heard it's great because of it's 100% quality but I'm not sure what that means.

Tabula Rasa is a six link white socket item. White sockets can take any sort of gem. Having six links lets you try out any combination you might want, but it lacks any defensive stats. This makes it dangerous to use later in the game. Six link items are ungodly rare. Tabula Rasa may be the only six link you ever see drop. It can drop from any mob since it has no level requirement. Heavy farming of bosses should eventually drop it.

It is common to see it for 3 exalted orbs in standard. Exalted orbs are very rare drops as well. 3 exalted is around 60 chaos orbs though the exact ratio is debatable.

Tabula Rasa is simply a unique that by default has 6 sockets, that are all linked together, and are colored "white", which means you can put any gem of any kind in any of those sockets.

The downside to Tabula Rasa is that it has no mods (except something like 10 es iirc).

The Race Reward Moonstone ring is of item level 100. Which means
1) it was a race reward, and so it has a different art style than from normal moonstone rings.
2) Since it is item level 100, it can roll any mod available to moonstone rings.

The moonstone ring is a item level 100 item. Item level is different than level requirement. The game doesn't default to showing the item level. If you pick up the item and type /itemlevel in the chat it will tell you the item level of the item. This stat defines the maximum bonuses the item can roll. Item level 79 may be the highest you can get from maps. 100 is race only.

White mobs drop items with item level equal to their level. Blue one level above and gold two levels.

It should also be noted that the fact that it doesn't have any defensive stats doesn't mean it's useless in the end-game. Before I succeeded in crafting my own 6-link from a white item (took much less work than I expected!), I was quite successful using a TR as my chest piece. All you really need is to dedicate a bit more passives and gear towards defense to compensate. Having a six-link generally means your offensive capabilities are taken care of.
