spell totem and life steal

So the stats of totems are not published. We know they do the same damage but with a 40% pentalty to spell dmg.

We know totems life is NOT basied off our own. So CI users go crazy.

What i want to know is does support gems such as, life steal, mana steal (no reason to use it), elemental penetration type support gems augment spell totem gem?

The idea a high dps caster i was considering is a tanky totems with solid dps. No minions. The totems SHOULD be able to heal themselves off spell damage. I will be able to heal myself with spell damage as well with ghost reaver. again the question,

Can spell totem support gem heal themselves with life steal support gems?

i think i will be looking at doing a pure lightening witch with ES, added spell damage from iron will (if feasible). For more spell spam i will be using remote traps with spell totems with life leech support gem. one for the totem and one for me.

The totem should tank well enough (might add extra minion life and damage support gems) and in addition heal up to 5% of its spell damage. all augmented by my spell damage and spell cast speed. using arc as an example i project i should be able to do around up to 3000 a hit. 3000 X 7 (using arc) at 5% potentially i could see descent heals for the totems. 1050 per cast. this is a high extreme i am attempting to achieve. call me crazy, criticize me!

A totem is technically a minion. But both supports don't apply to totems.

Btw, how does the crit chance from totems work? Do they have their own crit chance or do they get crit chance from the char?

Would a Power Siphon Totem build work?

from what i understand; crit chance is completly based off your character. however if you have power siphon on a totem this will not benefit you.

your resistances do NOT dictate your totems resistances. neither your life to your totem.

does this clear anyhthing up?

If the skill they are using can crit, then yes. Spell totem & Ranged attack totem support gems can crit as everything linkable has a crit chance. So yes, due to the fact that Power Siphon has a crit change.

Totem will benefit from critical change rate due to the fact that the skill it uses also benefits from the stat... rest is correct.

can life leech support gem apply to minions like skeletons zombies and spectres?
