Unique gloves Dodedre's Tenure: Reduce reduction.
Hi, I would like to suggest to lower the "Reduced cast speed" value from unique gloves "Doedre's Tenure" for a very simple reason: Doedre's Tenure good point appears to be its high "increased spell damage" , but the truth is that equipping them actually decreases DPS rather than increasing it (because of the -20% cast speed) , wich seems to make them quite a pointless paradox (unless there's something I'm not taking in account, perhaps I'm wrong).

Two things:
1: It's mostly newbie gear. After a while, most of us get better gloves. 2: In solo mode, the extra damage translates to stun and/or status ailment. In party mode, nobody cares about this, because most mobs have too many HP to stun. Last edited by ALaggyGrunt#3086 on Nov 18, 2013, 12:08:07 PM

Traps are effected by spell damage mods but are not effected by cast speed mods, I believe.

I see, Thought i might have been missing something, guess those gloves just aren't meant for all spellcasters then. Thanks for the info.

They also increase the damage of Tempest Shield where cast speed isn't really a concern.
Molten Shell might have use for it too, since you don't need to cast it more than once in a row. You can cast it outside a room with monsters and then run in with it, at that point only the spell damage matters not the cast speed. Just some more info on how they can be used. I'm not sure how important cast speed is for triggered gems either. |

As was said by others in this thread: bigger hits also improve likelyhood/duration of Freeze/Stun/Shock.
But that's not it. It's not actually reduced DPS when it comes to fire. The way Ignite works makes big nasty hits/crits alot better than fast casting. Who cares about dps if you can one-shot an enemy with a huge fire crit + insane ignite? Forum Warrior - Why are you creating a thread about this subject? Use Search! Also Forum Warrior - Nice necro.
