Tale of Inner Treasure - statistics

Hi fellow Exiles.

Hear my tale of hunting the Inner Treasure Nemesis mod. Me and my friends were forced to attain the softcore 4 months league this time (Domination) because some of us experience severe FPS stuttering during party play, preventing us from playing hardcore any longer.

Nevermind, when my friends are not around for mapping, I set out to hunt the fabled Inner Treasure Nemesis mod in pursuit of the 8 new challenges. Because I am a freak with a disgusting taste of masochism (I particulary love statistics) I did take a careful note of EVERY rare mob killed in a 40+ zone on Nemesis, so you too can have a hard laugh on me and my futile pursuit.

In hopes that somebody finds this amusing, here you go:

Used methodology overview:

As my base of operations is Domination I consider this a very very troll achievement to claim with empty stash and a fear of death lurking between the dropped packets and frames :)

I guess soon the Inner Treasure will see a flourishing business as the Domination players striving for this kill will scream in agony and be willing to pay all their wordly possesions for the kill itself.

But to the point. I knew for sure the Wetlands in Cruel is earliest location I had the Inner Treasure confirmed in. So I picked very simplicistic build semi-effective for farming with no gear (= frost nova / ice spear for boss nuking) and tried to get to Cruel ASAP.

Upon entering Wetlands (marked at lvl 44.81) the only thing I was doing was circling around, pick all rares, write them down, rinse, repeat. My foolish hope was that this will be enough, SHOULD be enough, the damned mob should be able to spawn there.

Well, in late 50s I got really, really bored to death and upon dinging lvl 57 I just surrendered to the impression that maybe a patch changed the mod level requirements and I am trying in vain.

So I blowed Vaal, Piety, then paid for Dominus kill (the fight is so unstable, I did not want to risk it alone) and switched to Merciless Ledge farming.

Few days later, sitting on lvl 66, all hopes already lost, wife laughing at me for my stupidity...



My hands were shaking so bad I almost died that very moment while trying to get a screenshot of that bastard.

So now you know the story of a poor, poor guy :) I really believe the developers were laughing out loud when coding down the spawn probabilities of this one. Laugh is healthy you know.

In term of feasibility, please note that I did drop NINE uniques already prior my acquintance with Inner Treaure, while having almost no IIR - I see really no point in such a rare mod. Really, really frustrating.

The other thing to note is that I have found the same number of Exiles as uniques. They are pretty damn rare species as well.

And an obligatory disclaimer : do not try this at home or at all. Your numbers (and experience) may vary, mind your long standing relations. They need your Inner Treasure more, after all!

What unique did it drop?

Cool! I also want to know what it dropped?

I levelled one char to 67 in Nemesis and encountered Inner treasure only once. Just enough for the achievement.

Forgot what it was, but it dropped some garbage, of course. Not that I expected anything else :P

It dropped so as they say - the chase is better than the catch :)

Eh. My inner treasure so far : . Quite disappointed with this mod I must say. Was a lvl67 mob.

Oh, i heared some stories about them dropping uniques with max mods sockets and links :(

Seems like it was just another myth...

Especially since my slitherpinch dropped 4 linked from the inner treasure mob i did find.

So I entered the week race.
Not to compete, my goal was simple - complete the nemesis challenge.
Or complete it after the race is done and characters are transferred to Nemesis league.

And at lvl 46 at Chamber of Sins lvl 3 I met the Inner Treasure.
And my long journey was done - yay I have 3 stars now :)
He dropped Slitherpinch gauntlets.

Now I dont know what to do. Im no longer motivated to continue my character in that race.
Is it worth it? I think I can get to like lvl 64 or so.


To help out with the statistics ... maybe:
1 Shroud Walker,
2 Corrupting bloods.
3 Storm Heralds, 3 Proximity Shields
5-10
Ancestral Power
Camouflaged Predator
Chronophage
Probably more than 10
Everything else :)

Edit:
Oh one more thing.
Finding inner treasure its like piece of cake compared to finding Echoing Shrine.
You'll find like 50 Inner Treasures before 1 Echoing. So good luck with that :)

since its my first nemesis char ever i had no clue about that mod or the challenge...

anyway, i think it was some dungeon in a2 cruel, and yes, the item was 6l

very lucky, reading this here feels like its as wealth modifier on blue mobs....
