Avatar of Fire + Spell Totem

Hey guys, so i've been thinking about making a Totem based Templar, with Avatar of Fire aiding with the Templar's damage.

I want to use Spell Totem in conjuction with Ice Nova or Shock Nova for example. This way Elemental Equilibrium will come in and give me more damage with the main Templar (or vice-versa, depending on who attacks first).

The only question i have is: Are the totems affected by my Avatar of Fire thus dealing Fire damage instead of Light/Cold?

Last I checked totems cast using your stats. That includes Avatar of Fire.
