Does 'Added Lightning Damage' work on minions?

It seems like it should but I don't see any indication that this support gem is enhancing my summoned Zombies or Skeletons when I socket them together. Does this work or no?

Yes, however if I want to increase their damage I usually go for the increased minion damage support gem.
