Monster Aggro

So, i have been trying to figure out how mobs in PoE aggro people because I plan on making a tank.

From this thread, http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/37041 i gleaned that mobs have a 1/8 chance (more now apparently) to switch their aggro to you if you deal damage to them. Does this depend on the amount of damage done though?

My plan is a tanky scion with Mind Over Matter, 200-300% more HP and Eldritch Battery with the fastest attacking melee weapon and melee splash to keep aggro on me. Maybe I will have a lot of reflect damage items on me as well so that i deal more damage to them, thus keeping more aggro on me.

Use enduring cry. This draws enemies to you.
I'm not sure what the exact agro mechanics are, but a rejuvenation totem will pull agro off a marauder spamming ground slam.

As far as I know it has a pretty rudimentary system and it depends on chance a fair bit.

These are mostly observations:
enemies will usually go for an enemy they see first
if they pass near a target they might go for it
if they get hit they might change targets
if they get stunned by that hit it's more likely that they will
enduring cry makes the caster their target until they are tempted by something else
they seem to like going for totems first
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

Thanks for the feedback guys!

I will be using Enduring Cry for sure, however it is not guaranteed to draw monsters to me or so I have heard.

I have also noticed that they like to target totems first, so I will especially be using Rejuvenation totems and Devouring totems. The problem is I don't want to be spending too much time casting spells and totems to keep the aggro on me, which is why I thought I could attack as fast as possible to keep it on me.

Monsters tend to choose new target to aggro after they have been stunned Raics. Usually if they are stunned by a melee character they will just aggro that character because he is closest.

Hmm I will play around with some high level chars and test out the aggro mechanics.

Any other tips guys?
From playing together with a friend a lot, bosses seem to target the player with less defenses, which might put a dent in your tanking idea.

If that is the case, then yes there is no point in trying to tank bosses at least. I did see in the other thread I linked in my first post that bosses and yellow monsters tend to have smarter AI and won't always target totems or the character who uses Enduring Cry.
