Cat ears and tail

I would pay real money for superficial stat-less gear like animal ears and tails (cat, dog, fox, bunny), schoolgirl sailor outfit, and moe stuff like that.

I approve of this.
Yes please, this must be done.
Cosmetic effects are planned for the microtransaction shop; that said, I believe they're intended to fit the postapocalyptic theme of Wraeclast, so schoolgirl outfits probably won't be showing up.
I have wandered through insanity;
I have walked the spiral out.
Heard its twisted dreamed inanity
In a whisper, in a shout.
In the babbling cacophony
The refrains are all the same:
"[permutations of humanity]
are unworthy of the name!"
I would pay an unspeakable amount of money to make my Witch look like Glinda from the Wizard of Oz.
I hope PoE will not be turned into a costume party. If cosmetic items inconsistent with the game's theme are ever introduced please provide an option for other players to not see them. This would not apply to all cosmetic items, just the silly ones.
I probably wouldn't mind the silliness, but I agree that there should be a way to disable the more whimsical content for people who would find it offputting.
With a name like 'moeboss' you certainly aren't beating about the bush.

I'm with Skivverus. Given GGG's aesthetic choices so far and the hints in screenshots and lore, I think we'll see a range of things that fit into Wraeclast to some greater or lesser extent. Although these will be optional 'costumes', I have a feeling the dev team are too committed to keeping Wraeclast true to its ambience to encourage the proliferation of things such as anime-inspired anthropomorphism and contemporary attire such as schoolgirl outfits.

I know other games online cater to such tastes quite extensively and would be slightly disappointed if the otherwise unique-feeling PoE went down a similar route.
If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

I am Path of Exile's biggest whale. Period.
I should add that if aesthetic items were split into two groups with one true to the feel of the game and the other ridiculous and whimsical but disabled from the view of other players by default...

I would find it very funny to build a Marauder in a school girl outfit.

The option for silly aesthetics could be fun on occasion so long as it wasn't visible by default. It could prove useful for keeping players around after they've otherwise grown tired of the game and may be interesting as a kind of hidden layer to the game world if the option to enable viewing these items was only unlocked after completing the hardest difficulty.

That is a good point. While silly items may detract if you don't want to see them, they are also inherently amazing for stuff like that. That kind of implementation from square one would be good, I think, but it could also be added in later.

I mean, with TF2 as an example (not a good example because that game was already ridiculous, but hush), players can only see other players' Pyroland-related items (like Balloonicorn) if they themselves are using Pyroland-related items (none of which provide combat benefits - they're either decorative or stock weapon reskins)
