Level difference max??

So I'm level 71 helping a couple friends brand new to the game and they're not getting any exp.. Is there a cap between levels that people can group together?

You can group but the xp would be as you've seen little to none. If you have a character closer to their lvl it'd be a lot smoother sailing.

so when any1 kills a mob -> each persons xp is calculated and added together -> total party xp -> divided to people depending what level they are (lvl 1 and 71 -> 1/72 and 71/72 of total party xp, probably not that hardcoded with lvls but as an example)

Lol, you cant power lvl your friends like that. You can get them through every difficulty though. They still have to grind XP in ledge, fellshrine, docks and so on.

Yeah, you can't really boost your friends. If this was ever allowed, everyone would be multiboxing and just boosting their characters really fast.

" Yep, welcome to ARPGs. :) The good news is, rerolling in PoE is fun. Try a bullshit build you know probably won't work in endgame, just to find out. It's fast to play with a group to get through normal difficulty, at which point you can either scrap the toon (and save all the currency you made) or keep playing...either way your friends should be fine on their own after that, and maybe they'd be in range of one of your serious characters. |

The best way you can help them is probably giving them decent leveling gear - seasoned players have a lot of these stashed away collecting dust but they help a lot for newbies. Can also help by advising on builds.
