Str vs Dex Archer. pros and cons?

Hey guys, pretty new to this game and I was just wondering what the biggest difference between a str and a dex archer was? is it just survivability / damage or is there more to it? Or does it not even really matter and it's about personal preference?

Well, if you consider a STR archer the one that has no bow nodes or very little, I'd say differences are notable but not spectacular.

- Damage
The only damage boost of STR archer is Iron Grip, and DEX archer can match 500 STR bonus with only 8 or so generic bow nodes and he has plenty more available on his side of the tree. STR archer will go for mechanics like point blank and more effective support combos to compensate.

- Survivability
See above, STR archer doesn't have to invest in damage so he can pump it all into defense and his STR provides base life too so that makes him tougher. He can utilize that toughness to use point blank mentioned above with less risk.

- Levelling
STR archer will take a bit more time to kick in and will generally have a bit of trouble to equip higher level bows and level gems until he gets enough dex, mostly on gear. Getting enough green slots on STR gear can be a bit troublesome too unless you use some dex or hybrid gear.

Well, you could say people build STR archers because they can, they are tougher but less damaging and take more hassle to gear up, don't really have any major advantages except for some niche uses.
