Yeah that was entirely too offputting for me spending about 1.5 hours in the 8 levels (like what the fucking stupid) of ANNOYING zones only to D/C right as I started Dom event.

I learned that if you linked your steam account to POE and run the game via steam, an update was downloaded. I believe it was some direct x feature.
Bottomline: if you play the standalone version outside of steam, it slows down and dc's when you are playing Dominus. If you play through the steam client, then it is a much better experience. Can someone else here verify this please. GGG listens to its fans!!! Thank you!

They intend to release the next patch on Monday so that they can hotfix any new problems during their work week, instead of creating the potential for new problems when they aren't at work. They aim not to release updates near the end of a week (Thursday/Friday) because most of their staff aren't working on Saturday/Sunday.
Monday's patch also aims to fix this and various other problems.
