Fastest way to start a Scion

I've played this game to death and love it but I've got enough alts, thank you, and I've seen the world many times. I've been away for a long time but am coming back for the launch. I'm trying to understand this "unlocking" thing for the Scion. My intention is for my wife and I to unlock Scion in the quickest way possible, and then play new L1 Scions through in Domination league. I'm hearing mixed messages on how to do this.

1) Complete Normal Act 3 with a new character after launch starting in Domination league.
2) Take any existing character into Act 3 and "find" Scion in a cage and free her as a side quest, then start a new Scion in Domination.
3) Take a new character now in Standard to Act III and leave the Act unfinished. Then, at launch, use that character to unlock Scion in Domination.

Is it one of these three or something else altogether?

I'd recommend 2 or 3, but I think 2 would be easier because you can just once shot everything in Normal if you're level 50+

The very same news post that describes the unlock conditions also says if you beat normal in beta you will have her from the start. This is to discourage rushing through act 3x with your merciless capable chars.
You have to make a completely new account and start from scratch. I know it sucks this is why peeps are so upset over new character class being added :(

Do you have nothing better to do?

I searched and read as many threads as I could preceding my post, including the one you linked. I even responded to you in that thread but, as you nay have noticed, even your response was followed by an inconsistent response. That's the way it is in all the threads I've seen. So I'm left wondering still, but thanks for your response, I'm going to go with yours because a "Ruler of Wraeclast" by definition has more invested in this type of knowledge than any other non-GGG poster (not to mention that I'm not entirely convinced you are non-GGG). :-)

Thanks

Thread could have been locked after this. Plus we got too many of the same kind of threads, better lock new ones direct people there.
GGG has said multiple times that if youv EVER completed normal on ANY character the scion will be unlocked permanetly for your account upon release AND usable in races.

/thread
As other have said if you have any char who has finished normal in any league you will have the scion unlocked without doing anything (and the unlock is global in all leagues - so you can play her in races as well)

Thanks, I missed that.

By "you will have her from the start", does that mean that on day one you can create a scion in Domination league without having to "find her" in a cage, or does it simply mean that you will not have to complete normal in order to have the cage appear, but will still have to find her with a 2nd character? I'm assuming the latter.

Thanks guys
