I would like to talk about my experience on helping Oak; I killed the rat and the bitch for him in exchange for his buff.
This was the first time I decided to help a bandit. I don’t think the recompense is bad, most of the times it’s better than a skill point. I wasn’t refusing to help them for a sense of justice to the people that live in Phrecian Forest also (I think they are very ungrateful, like many other NPCs in this game). What was preventing me from taking the points was the bandit’s arrogance.
These scumbags tried to buy my allegiance with power to help their purposes while they weren’t moving a finger to help. I just helped Oak because I needed his type of buffs, nothing personal.
Well, what made me angrier was his pronouncement when I had finished the dirty job. He wasn’t waiting for my allegiance, he just told me to gtfo before he decides that I’m a nuisance too.
On that moment, I wanted nothing more than that big child trying to have a problem with me. I would hit this oak with a lightning so strong the rotten three would split into pieces, setting all its perched birds on fire. The thunder would be so noisy the whole forest would be able to hear, making the rest of the rats and the bitches start running in panic.
Wtf is wrong with this hillbilly? He was despising the person that was able to destroy his two worst enemies with relative ease (I would have killed Greust for much less).
After all, it is weird how the game did not allow me to kill him; he had already buffed me so ending his life was the last piece needed to get Eramir’s skill point as well. I do rarely betray my contractors, but a special case of notable stupidity like that must be recompensed.
I think this quest deserves a rework; because of all those stupid bandits getting along, the incongruity of this quest and the people complaining they can’t reset their rewards.

Not true - Eramir gives you a skill point by giving you the power of the three amulets. Oak has already taken their power, and just gives you the empty husks. Eramir can't give you a skillpoint using husks.

If this is true, how was I able to use the Apex to open Vaal Oversoul's seal?
It worked just as a key?
If so, it still doesn't change the fact Oak is an asshole and I would rape him for real :P

If you have a look at the apex once you get it, it says something like, "It's power is gone, but it might still be useful for something". So yeah, it's just a key.

You ought to be able to kill him but have eramir only able to give you the passive point through the apex itself, which you'd have already gained the benefit from. Cause yeah, he's a prick.
