What is "Block Recovery"?
I see items with this stat. I know you block an attack, but is there an internal cool down or soemthing? What about multiple attacks coming at you?
Pain is Good for it lets me know that I am still alive.

If the attack you blocked would stun you,the game will immobilize you in place for a while,"block recovery" reduces that duration.Unwavering stance removes it completely

Block recovery is pretty much how long the animation for blocking is. More block recovery means you have to wait less time after blocking to be able to move/attack again.

So, there is essentially a CD, and blocking is semi useless in fighting hordes of critters?
Thinking of making a shield guy next. unsure on the stats. Pain is Good for it lets me know that I am still alive.

i.e. only block 1 out of the 10 attacks in bound.
Pain is Good for it lets me know that I am still alive.

" I'm pretty sure you can block during the block animation, it'll just reset the animation. Blocked attacks also only play the blocking animation if the attack would've stunned you if you hadn't blocked it. Last edited by Bunnu#1083 on Sep 17, 2013, 5:19:26 PM

This is Blocking.
Blocking an attack prevents all damage and harmful effects including status ailments. When an attack is blocked, the game first calculates if the attack would have caused a stun were it not blocked. If it would have caused a stun, the blocking animation is played, stunning you briefly. If it would not have caused a stun, then you get a "free" block with no animation. Faster Block and Stun Recovery and Increased Block Recovery modifiers reduce the length of the blocking animation. The following formula shows the duration of the blocking animation in milliseconds: Block Duration = 350 / ( 1 + Block and Stun Recovery + Block Recovery ) If you cannot be stunned, the block animation will never play. Status ailments have no affect on your block chance, but frozen will prevent the block animation from playing if it otherwise would, and chilled will make it take longer to play (since those two work by decreasing the speed at which your character plays animations). You can be the ripest, juiciest peach in the world,
and there’s still going to be somebody who hates peaches. |
