Questions with iiq & irr gems

1) Do this gems work with melee skills? I'm using Item Quantity gem linked to Reave, but I'm not sure if it's working. I also want to link Item Rarity gem with Reave.
2) My iir is 47% and iiq is 50% with gears. Do the effect of iir and iiq gems stack with my % from gears? "Raise your voice like a weapon 'til they fall to the ground."

And they multiply, so you have more chance to get a unique with 100% IQ and 100" IR then with 200% IR.
That's probably the main reason devs want to rework MF system, it works too good. Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

Since Chris posted it on reddit half of the MF-loving forum population is in uproar, the other half is crying silently in some corner. Can't really guess what will be the nature of said rework, maybe it won't be much of a nerf in the long run but IQ/IR synergy will most likely go. Why do I think so? Because it's an idiotic interaction that makes it pretty much impossible to finetune drop rates, if they have anything besides wax between their ears it will be the first thing on the list.
