What can help the Mac users in the crowd
From playing path of exile for a little bit I have noticed that there are some changes that could really benefit the mac users in the crowd. I don't know how much you guys will look at this but there were a few things i wanted to point out.
1. There is no right click on a mac computer unless you put 2 fingers on the touch pad and press down. This makes the right click ability a real pain to use during combat. It takes extra time to take your fingers off the hot keys and press the touch pad. So i would recommend maybe changing what the right click abilities are or even getting rid of the right click ability on macs all together. 2. I have purchased an external mouse for my mac laptop. To scroll up and down on a page with that mouse you run your fingers over the top of the mouse (basically acting like your mouse wheel). As some other people might know that the mouse can be very sensitive and when you move your fingers it causes the screen to zoom in and out. Very frustrating when you are in combat or even just walking around. My recommendation would be to get rid of the zoom on the mouse for Macs and just tie the zoom to the keyboard. 3. One last thing here is that also the slot between the left click and right click abilities is unusable on a mac. There is no mouse wheel to press down on and I have no idea what button on a mac can use that middle ability. I would suggest either getting rid of the middle slot or just tying it to a different button on the keyboard. maybe the spacebar or something. You guys at Grinding Gears games are making an awesome game and I am very happy to donate to play this beta and can not wait to play the finished work. Keep up the good work fellas cause what your doing is working. This thread has been automatically archived. Replies are disabled.

" Using a regular mouse is an option for a Mac user, and one I advocate (I have a macbook I use as well, and use a trackball for when I play something on it). These are changes that do not need to happen, especially with OSX being an unsupported OS configuration for the game. |

Ok so obviously i don't know that much about computers but how do you use a regular mouse with a mac? I always though that only mac accessories would work with mac book computers. Any info would help thanks

Many things that are not sold by Apple work with Macs. Look on the back of the package or on the website for supported operating systems. I would HIGHLY suggest buying a non-Apple mouse.

Yes, what ^^^ he said.
You can pick up a cheap USB mouse, plug it in, open system preferences -> mouse and set the right button as the secondary button. However, a "real" Mac user can play using the touchpad AND two finger tap... ;-P (not for long... See my sig) :-) Signed: Geldric, scribe of Oriath

Macintosh products used to be based on PowerPC architecture and thus did have compatability issues for certain kinds of hardware (though never mice). This is no longer the case, however.
Macs internally are identical to PCs now. The only thing that separates the two are the operating system. Since POE is not officially supported by GGG yet, I think it's a little premature to request certain things of them, though your list is something to keep in mind when GGG does decide to officially port the game. As other users have already said, you should get another mouse (non-Apple) if you play games on a Mac on regular basis. While Apple mice are very good for desktop use, they can be fairly useless with games.
For example, USB Overdrive is an application that helps configure a variety of mice (and other devices too) that don't have official Mac support. More information here http://www.usboverdrive.com/USBOverdrive/News.html. *Following contains some shameless product placement* I personally use Razer mice. Fabulous for gaming and some of them even have Mac drivers. Before I had Razer Deathadder and now I have Razer Imperator. Both have worked great with my Mac. You don't even need to get a fancy mouse, most any USB mouse nowadays will work fantasticly under OSX out of the box.

Get whatever mouse feels good to you. I personally do not like Razor mice, because they tend to be small.

Thanks everyone for the information. I am going to go to the store to day and pick up a new mouse.
