How to properly calculate for whetstone dps?

Please can anyone hold my hand like I'm 5 and explain how to calculate for a weapons dps (without quality) what it will be with quality after stones.

I know 99% of people think you just add the min + max * 1.2 / 2 * ias, this is wrong. It's confusing because this works perfectly fine when calculating armor, but not with weapons.

From the wiki:

"Quality weapons have their minimum and maximum damages increased by the listed percentage. Thus, a weapon that normally does 50-100 damage would that has a "100% increased physical damage" Prefix and a "adds 10-20 physical damage" Prefix, with +20% quality, deals 132-264 damage.
(Base minimum damage50 + Adds physical damage prefix10)*(1 + Percentage increased physical damage prefix100% + Quality20%)=132
(Base maximum damage100 + Adds physical damage prefix20)*(1 + Percentage increased physical damage prefix100% + Quality20%)=264"

I have tried this with a weapon, then whetstoned it to test and am not getting the same result as when I actually stoned it, assuming that the proper formula for calculating an already stoned item is the example I gave at the very top.

I'm not sure if the line "Thus, a weapon that normally does 50-100" refers to the weapons base dps or what, if that's the case and whetstones only add to the base dmg of the weapon than maybe that's where I'm off. Can anyone clarify? I'm out of whetstones to test again lol.

Aaaand math.

I just quality anything good.

((base damage of weapon) + (explicit xx-yy physical damage mod on weapon)) * ((physical damage % on weapon) + (Weapon Quality %))

Example:

A Sabre has a base attack of 4-15.

So (4-15) + (5-9) = (9-24)

So now we take 9-24 and multiply by (1 + .97 + .2)

So 9 * 2.17 = 19.53 (rounded to 20)

and 24 * 2.17 = 52.08 (rounded to 52)

And there you have it.

ahhh so it is the base then, well that explains it, 1000 thank you's sir :)

e:what a pain in the ass it's going to be now to calc dps :( is there a website anywhere that you can choose base and input numbers that would be nice :)

I taught you math, you can make a spreadsheet :p

Treat Quality as if its just adding to the +Physical % already on the weapon... so a weapon with +40% Physical damage and 20% quality is really + 60% Physical damage... 120% Physical with 20% quality is really 140% Physical. But yes it is the "base damage + any added physical" that is boosted by quality. Same for armor and armorscraps.

its rly easy to calculate dps for whetstone dps. ill do w/ an example item:

€: somehow its linked w/ the 20q now coz i placed it in the same slot in my stash again, but the nonquality dmg was 119-209

(119+209) / 2[average] / 2.2[IPD] * (0.2[qbonus]+2.2[IPD]) * 1.32 [AS] = 236.16 dps @20q

as you can see, the only thing you have to really look out for is that you dont forget to factor in the +1 (starting @ 100% base dmg) when u divide or multiply the increased physical damage (else u get too high numbers since x-x flat dmg is counted directly on top of the base weapon damage). hope this helped in case u still werent sure how its done.
