Rapid Fire FireBall?

With a DPS around 370 a fireball, it packs quite the punch. So why not try that, rapid fire mode?



Thinking about going CI, picking up the cast speed nodes near both the templar and shadow side, and even a few in the middle, getting a total of 53 faster cast from the tree alone. That combined with a 20% Faster Cast gem(49%), makes this a 102% faster cast build.

Yeah, shit's going down.

Not sure how I am going to sustain the mana costs however. I guess a mana leech gem won't ever be enough, but we'll see that once I get to that point.

.. So what do you guys think?
I don't know how I'm going to link my fireball yet. Maybe I'll put it on a totem, or maybe I go bigtime AoE with a GMP or something.

Any Suggestions?

Nice idea, but i think you shouldn't skip the mana/mana regen nodes in the witch starting area.
Don't really like mana leech, but there are some uniques which give good mana regen, plus some other notably good effects for casters:



If you play Anarchy/OS, Shavronne's Revelation can give you even 100% mana regen.
Those uniques + clarity + some mana regen nodes will put you on a safe side.

You've also left out two easy ways for more cast speed - Haste and Blood Rage.
Haste will give you up to 13% CS, Blood Rage 5% per Frenzy Charge - means 15% even without speccing into any additional charge. You are near one FC, i'd skip some 6% ES nodes and get the Charge, maybe also FC from Bandits - that would leave you with 5x Frenzy Charges, or an additional 25% Cast Speed ;)

Good point you are making there! I should definatly pick up that Frenzy + Haste. I rearranged a few points in the tree, making it look more like this.

What's the point of linking fireball with faster projectiles? FB neither dissipates as freezing pulse nor is it short ranged like EK. Best damage boost for FB is concentrated effect (as long as not used with pierce or fork).

Conc Effect has a rather high multiplier, it wouldn't align very well with his insane cast speed. With my other suggested supports it would be 1*1.2*1.5*1.4*1.3*1.6=~5.25, means 168 Mana Cost per cast! There wouldn't be much room for helpful auras like Haste, Clarity, Discipline.

Faster Proj's multiplier is much lower, resulting in 1*1.2*1.5*1.4*1.3*1.1=~3.6, means 115 Mana per cast. On top of that, 20% Faster Proj gives another 10% Cast Speed for his build (20% Faster Casting and 20% LMP too, btw.), making it a super fast leech-shotgun.

I would never use FB without Faster Projectiles. Epic support gem for this build.
