First wave beta's well start on or before SEP 31 2011 this is a fact but no set date as of now.

Even though they say Q3 (before the end of September) there is still the possibility they wont make it. Have you waited for any other of blizzards games, they are good at pushing dates back. All in all it it worth it though as their games are excellent.
Q3 is likely but don't hold your breath :P All hail the timer!

Be sure to update your Battle.net beta Profile settings regularly, with Blizzards System Check tool from battle.net, they occasionally add a new stat to it, and if you haven't updated, you'll be less likely to be selected (so I've heard)
