The Skull Hood...

A skull with a hood...what could be cooler? Not much, but the latest mtx ins't cool, in fact it looks pretty cheesy & cartoonish instead.

I love the art style in this game, it's dark, gritty & super high def, where as most games are dumbing down their gfx (this game a little too cough auras cough) POE has mostly superb, high def textures, but, what happened to the skull?

Is it meant to be a human skull? What happened to the teeth, nose holes & cheek bones? The colour? If the bone armour is made from bones then why are they a totally different colour to the skull?

This should be one of the coolest helmets in the game but it looks worse than the Scream mask in it's current form. I am positive you can do better!

In the picture you linked it looks really way to bright.

The skulls bright because its a top down game. If we made it darker you wouldn't be able to see the skull. Dark Souls is a third person game so you can their helmets up a lot more close and personal. So they can have darker colours on their gear with no real contrast.

However I agree the skull looks like a scream mask. You should have seen it before I edited it though : P. Its eyes used to be even bigger and more round and happy. I was hoping for a more sinister gaunt skull myself.

Is it maybe possible then to do a compromise of toning down the brightness of the skull a bit
but making the bone armour brighter so both get around the same level?

That bone armour is really old too. If it was made now it probably would have been brightened up to contrast better from the environment. The skull is also bright because you cant really see it from top down otherwise.

I think the skull is hard to see because the hood is much, much too far forward. If you can bring the hood back then you can tone down the brightness and keep the skull aspect. Looks a bit comical right now.
