Weapon glowing through quality

I hate when games give weapons with glow effects right from the start and doesn't make you work for them. So my idea is this (if GGG will ever decide to introduce glowing effects):

*Current max quality is +20% with normal whetstones.
*+20% no glow effects
*introduce rare whetstones that have a chance of say 50-60% to succeed upon improving quality further (the amount should be i think between 2-4% per one time. If it fails the item is destroyed. This should work only on rare and unique items to avoid first making white items into very high quality and only then making them rare and so on.
*introduce very rare whetstones (for say event rewards?) that don't destroy the weapon but makes it back to +20% or +0%. These would be mainly used to save unique/5-6 linked socket items.
*Every successful improvement above +20% makes the weapon glow more stronger. The animation of the glow could also be affected by say the elemental attribute that is the biggest on that weapon.

The same can be done with armors, though I'm not sure about what effects should be added on them but there could be some cool ways like shadowy glows and what not.

So this would be an eng-game mechanic to boost your strength and looks. Dunno about you but I think it would be awesome.

I'm willing to bet weapon glows will be micro-transactions.
I believe that has been explicitly stated. Once Chris showed off an example of a sword skin. It was glowing and dripping sparks. It looked cool. And he said that'll be available in the cash shop eventually.
As long as PoE doesn't end up looking like Mu "rainbow" online I guess some faint glowing effects won't be bad.

It will be very impressive if weapons would glow :)
Well then I still hope they implement the glows in a way that you would still have to do something hard to make it better and that not everyone could have the best glows. It really sucks when everyone has glows that they didn't work for.
