Cant click an item without it linking in chat.

I cant find anyone else having this issue in a search. Basically occasionally the game will get stuck on linking stuff in chat. I cant pick up an item from my inventory or ctrl click to move it into stash or into a shop window, the game just opens chat and links it instead.....

This is pretty gamebreaking, as I can only move items by click and drag while it is happening. Even logging out or restarting the entire game will not resolve the issue, it seems to turn itself off after an amount of time.

Closing or hiding chat also has no effect, it will open chat and link the item anyway on any left click.

This is a long shot but there are some super annoying windows accessibility features called StickyKeys and FilterKeys, which can make you keyboard act irrationally. One of them activates when you hold down shift for 8 seconds, the other when you press shift a few times in a row.

So you might want to check in your control panel accessibility options to see if you've accidentally tuned one of them on.


Otherwise, maybe your keyboard is on the way out and the ALT key is a bit flaky?

another possibility is that you have another program using the alt key for some reason.

screen capture maybe? or a macro of some kind?

In game key bindings maybe? Dont know if these can be set or not.

i would plug in a different keyboard and check your accessibility settings first.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't a stuck alt key for any external reason, I have all stickykeys off and I play a ton of other games where alt is used and have never had an issue with any of them, whereas this has happened twice in similar situations. Weird issue.

If it happens again i'll make sure to check everything that could possibly make alt stuck not involving POE and report back if I still can't find a solution. Thanks guys.

If that happens again,just tap alt.
This happens when you alt-tab out of the game,happened to me a few times too.

This is not a game issue though,keys can get stuck like this in any other game.
