Using an item multiple times?

So i have been watching streams on path of exile. I couldn't help but notice that when i see people use items they don't have to click the currency / scroll of identification one at a time. They are holding the item on their cursor and able to keep going without having to keep clicking the currency. I have checked the controls in game but I cannot figure it out. If you know that would be awesome. Thanks.

shift is the key you are looking for,

use the currency item as per usual, when mousing over the item to apply it, hold shift

Is this still working? I tried by holding shift but nothing happened.
Should I set something specific for Shift in the controls?

You have to start to use the currency as normal then hold shift to apply multiple's of that currency type.
