Possible In Game Trading Market Interface / POE "Craigs List" > Looking For Opinions / Discussion

PLEASE FIRST AND MOST IMPORTANTLY! THIS IS NOT AN AUCTION HOUSE. THERE IS NO BUYOUT FEATURES AND NO AUCTION TIMERS ETC.

This is intended to be an INGAME Trade Market Feature.

The idea is to combine POE.xyz + Poeexplorer + poe trade forums into an INGAME FEATURE where players can search for items in the database OR upload items to be found IN THE DATABASE.

This will help avoid constant minimizing the game to use your browser, keeping the trading experience INGAME.

No more using poe.xyz only to message the seller to find out that item was not actually for sale, only for "display" on his forum post under a "upgrade my gear if u got better" category.

It still requires players to engage in ACTIVE negotiation and conversations. No BOTTING will work with this system.

I did a very basic MOCKUP of a possible ingame interface for this feature if it was ever to be designed.

There is TONS of room for improvement and discussion, just bored so i decided to put a small photoshop together.

Still working on the "SELL" or "UPLOAD" part of it. I will post a picture of it when there is a little more content to feed the eyes.

Some of the basic features this system would have:

You can see if the seller is ONLINE, and his current character he is playing so its easy to contact the seller.
If the seller is offline, you can then choose the PM (private message) button, and send a direct message to his FORUM INBOX AREA.
Basically "Mouse over" or a button to see full description of the item.
Full search features like poe.xyz and poexplorer.
To change the league and stuff you may want to upload / search, just choose one of your characters on the right side that is in that specific league.
Search by stat type AND item level tiers you want.


Alot of the things will make more sense when i finish the Sell / Upload Image

Would just like to have a healthy discussion on the idea / improvements to make it more functional / better.

i suggest a button that joins the player's party and his instance so you dont have to exit town and then re-enter.

what im afraid of is that trading might become less personal and it would feel just like D3 felt (not good). but im sure there is a way to make it work :)

im not sure about a join party button. Because random people would be joining the sellers party without his permission for example.

i think that having to ask the seller to join his party first would be the ideal solution. same way it already is when participating in trade chat for example.

regarding trading feeling less personal like diablo3. Thats exactly why there is no buyout buttons or auction timers. It is NOT intended to be an auction house.

Players will have to then contact the seller PERSONALLY and negotiate a possible trade. Same way it already is with forum trading and ingame trade chat trading.

And personally i believe that 1 to 1 talking to get a trade done, is by far the best and most engaging way to do it. This system will just ALLOW buyers and sellers to get to each other and engage in play time more efficiently. The great plus is that AUTOMATED systems do not work in this feature. They cant program a bot to negotiate(reason why there are no bots in the trade forums or trade chat buying items for example. Bots only place bids or click buy buttons.

what if more than 5 buyers want to join your game.

its also inconvenient if you want to sell all the stuff you have in your stash. say 50 items you didnt sell because youre tired of spamming trade chat.

i think there are limits that a system like the one you propose wont work properly unless GGG decides to change other things in the game.

the best i can think of is that the number of items you can WTS/WTB is going to be limited to 5 which is the current party capacity.

well assuming you can have ~100 people in your friends list, and it displays everyone online, character level zone league etc.

i think this can be a similar, but it displays the listings that meet the search criteria.

also party capability has nothing to do with the number of listings.

and dont forget you are not atually buying the item through the system. You will simpy FIND the item so you can then get in touch with the seller. Its like craigs list. There is no tricky glitchy mechanics that items need to be sent to a stash like in auction houses systems.
Its fairly simple actually.


but the idea of joining the sellers game is out of question. People dont want others to randomly join their party specially if they are doing maps and such.
