[Leveling] Skills that can utilize Brightbeak + Shield

So I recently grabbed a Brightbeak and Crest of Perandus on Onslaught and have not touched them since I acquired them. I am rolling a new character and am wanting to make use of them somehow at the level I can equip both (level 20). Now I am just trying to get some ideas on what to do with them. I have a 3-Link available for when I hit 20, and a 4-Link will be available shortly after.

The only thing I can think is running a Blood Magic gem with a Life On Hit, as the 1.95 APS just drains your mana making most skills unusable. The problem is I would have to wait until level 24 to use the Blood Magic gem.

I was looking at doing a Lightning Strike + Blood Magic + Life On Hit, but I am not sure. Any ideas on what could be fun, and viable, for this weapon/shield combo?

Again, this is on Onslaught, though it really doesn't make that much of a difference.

I know it's cliche by now, but perhaps ele-cleave?
You can leave the cleave gem at a lower level (5iirc) due to only pumping phys dmg at higher levels. This keeps mana cost low. I don't think anything phys based is going to be effective with the lowish damage of Brightbeak, so whatever you decide will likely be elemental.

And don't forget the leap slam+faster attacks for mobility.

You can't cleave with Brightbeak.

Yep, only swords and axes.

I should have known that from arguing with a guy that thought claws should cleave.

GL finding a build, I have no clues, obviously.

Brightbeak ground slam pretty much rips doing lower levels, i once cleared even into merciless with 2 blightbeak xD

Yeah I am aware of the Ground Slam and Leap Slam, but thanks for the replies nonetheless. I was looking for more out-of-the-box type builds for this weapon. Someone out there has had to have done something fun with this thing.
