Proper way to reroll a rare? Scour and Alc or Chaos?

I was going to reroll this and risk losing some EV, the only thing it really has but I wondered if generally scour and alc is better cheaper or just tossing a chaos on it.
Does RNG care about the method? Does it make a difference what level I am in relation to the item or just the item level?

And no I don't have any better gear for this character and I can't find a 5L high ES jacket that anyone will sell me or I can afford.

depends on what the market value is.In the new leagues,an alch and a scour are more valuable than a chaos,but later on when alchs become trash,scour bombing an item is better.

Both ways are equivalent (in RNG and "price"), so it comes down to which orbs you can spare.

Your level doesnt matter, just the ilvl of the item.

Are they? Cause I see tons of transactions in Onslaught where 1 alc/scour/fuse == 0.5 chaos

If you are trying to get high es on that then I would say best way is alt regal method.

because 1 chaos does the same as 1alch + 1 scour

propper way, scour it and alt it as long as you got two stats that you want, then regal it. if it is still great you can keep it maybe start exalting it. If not scour and start again.

Oh this sounds good, as I have tried both other methods and get this mid mix of not much.
I have exactly one regal and several alts, scours so will give it a go. But now I wonder if I really need that Dex for gems, I guess I'll need to check.
