Customized Item Drop Colors

As a player, I would like to be able to customize the color of my items (both font and background color) as they drop in game in order to draw attention to the items I find would be most beneficial to my character.

This could be accomplished with a new options menu which allows a player to select an item category or quality, and then adjust the color with RGB (or CMYK) sliders.

Customized item colors would allow players to quickly identify the items they want based on their own preference.

For example, a player would like to more easily locate currency drops in game. With customized colors, the player could change this item category to drop with a red font, drawing additional attention once the item hits the floor. This would prevent the player from "accidentally" missing these loot items and running on to the next pack.

This type of customization could be used to adjust the default colors for particular item categories (currency, map, etc) or item quality (white, magic, rare, etc).

Additionally, to not compromise varying quality levels of drops, I would also like to customize the background color of the item name plate based on item type.

For example, a player who has built their character to use a sceptre for their weapon, these items may be better drawn out. Or, if a player has identified their biggest opportunity for an upgrade is with their gloves, these items can be highlighted so the player is sure to look for upgrades.

I'm sure there are some more difficult/advanced options that could be considered as well, such as conditional requirements to colorize an item (e.g. must be of X level req. or only coloring some items of the category but not others). I think the overall game play however would improve based on the first two recommendations.

Thank you for your consideration.

i kind of like the HUGE flurry and crazy clicking that happens when a boss dies or large chest opened. that ppl can hardly deal with the information overload - gives a holy crap cut throat feel to it.

if you want to adjust the current colors of different items then i'd be all for it. but don't like adding requirements, armor/weapon type, especially quality! (love all those ppl that pass up quality white items... have gotten some nice 20% pieces as well!) to the options of coloring of items.
