Captured Mouse / Mouse Locked In Window
Hello, this is not really a gameplay suggestion, however I think this feature is quite important. I remember this feature from the Diablo II Glide Wrapper.
Many people play this game in window mode, there's just two issues people often run into. 1: Clicking outside the window accidentally, the game basically minimizes. If this happens in combat it can quickly lead to death, even more so the death of a hardcore character. 2: Accidentally hitting the edges of the game window is a pain, this causes the game window to resize in resolution, which due to the UI readjustment often times locks your game up for several seconds, which can also result in a death. 3: Drifting off onto your other monitors on multi-monitor setups. Most of these happen during combat when trying to click on things near the edges of your screen. It'd be absolutely amazing if we could have a feature that locks your mouse into the Path of Exile game window to prevent these possibly fatal accidents from happening. Basically locking it into the game window so you'll be unable to move your mouse outside the game window unless you alt tab out of the game. I'm not fully sure about the coding aspect of this, but there are several programs (most notably Cursor Lock) to enable this function on almost any game, so I assume there should be some basics for this function already included in the DirectX code itself. (I might be completely wrong about that, by the way.) Last edited by Kyu#2503 on Jun 13, 2013, 4:25:15 AM

Playing in Fullscreen takes care of all the issues you speak of. When one plays a game in windowed mode, one usually does so so they can click outside of the window.
Is there a performance issue or some other reason I'm not aware of that would make you want to play in a windowed mode? |

" There can be several uses for window mode. Firstly, it generally allows you easier vision of everything going on on your screen because everything is packed into a more central area, granting you a better overview of everything going on. Secondly, people like to also use window mode in order to play on a lower resolution for more FPS (slow computers for example) without everything getting heavily washed out. Playing fullscreen on a lower than native monitor resolution looks very blurry. And thirdly, alt-tabbing in window mode is far faster. Sure, you can use windowed-fullscreen for this, but this is only effective if you don't have any problems with the first two issues. For me, it's a mix of all three. I like to alt tab quickly, on my main computer I dislike not having everything directly in my view and on my laptop I need to run on a lower than native resolution because it's very slow. Which would be blurry in fullscreen or windowed-fullscreen. It's a very tiny feature that would however help out a lot of people. Last edited by Kyu#2503 on Jun 13, 2013, 4:34:12 AM

Thank you for the explanation. Not trying to be a bragging wiener here, but I have a very powerful computer so I don't experience those issues.
However, you have explained to me what they are, and I am sure you are not alone in those needs. I support this idea, as I do pretty much any reasonable suggestion that can help people play this game more easily. +1 |

" Heh, no worries. I don't have the performance issue on my main computer either. However I'm sure there's plenty of people who play on lower their resolutions in order to get decent FPS as a lower resolution generally grants a enormous performance gain.
Sounds like it could be a setting in interface options
[x] Enable Mouse Lock Hey...is this thing on?

" That's what I was thinking as well. :p

Sorry for necroing this thread but OP has everything pointed out and I did not want to start a new thread as this one is perfect. I really wish this was an option, I had this problem since February but since we are out of Beta I'd like to this become reality, it would really help.
