Eldritch Battery converting ES regen/gain/leech to mana recovery.

This would be a big and unnecessary buff to the base keystone, so I think it'd need to either be on a unique or another keystone behind eldritch battery that has its own downside, such as all regen being disabled for a short period after using mana that is effected by energy shield cooldown recovery. This would not effect leech.

The idea is to have all forms of ES recovery apply to your mana instead of currently doing nothing. This would mean all life regen from gear and passives when using Zealots Oath or all life leech when using Ghost Reaver. Other forms of ES recovery like the ES on kill stat found on the Hellbringer gloves would also apply, as well as any future ES gain effects.

I feel that this could lead to some interesting builds, which use large amounts of mana over a short period, then must wait before they're able to regen at very high speeds, like the default functions of Energy Shield. With Ghost Reaver allowing for larger amounts of mana leech than the mana leech gem then you'd even have something akin to a Vaal Pact playstyle.

Speaking of, you could even go further and have ANOTHER passive/unique that causes all mana leech to be instant rather than capped at 12.5%/sec but disable mana recovery from flasks and mana regen to be capped at the base 1.75%/sec.


This is all because I feel that there are a LOT of options on how to use life as a mana resource through blood magic, leeching and how it combines with ES. Mana itself is however very simple and EB, while a great keystone, doesn't allow for much diversity in how it's taken advantage of.

I don't really see a point in this.

Your Keystones should deeply affect your gear and passive choices.
Having Keystones behave in a way that you can use the same gear and passives regardless, doesn't make it very interesting.

First, base Mana Regen is already based on your mana total, wich means increasing your Mana (in this case, through Eldritch Battery) already makes it regenerate faster.

Wanting ES regen to also be converted to Mana regen would be a pure, unnecessary buff.
This leaves ES gain and leech conversion as the only "legitimate" request, but that further likens EB gameplay to everything else.

A bit of an exaggeration, but the next step would be asking a skill or passive that makes incoming damage burn mana instead, like a Mana Shield, and voila, the trivialization is complete.
