Great Starting AoE class?
Hi i havent played this sort of game since diablo 2...just wondering what class is a great AoE/farming class for me to roll first to get things rolling for whatever i want to do in the game.
Forgive me if diablo references are hated in this game lol...no clue how the community is. |

Welcome!
Only Diablo 3 is hated here. Diablo 1 + 2 are much loved, cherished and have wet dreams about We just had a massive patch so your question is hard to answer but before the patch good starting AOE classes were ranged spell builds like a Spork Witch Good luck! |

This game is non-traditional as far as classes go. Class only determines where you start on the passive skill web, what rewards you get from quests, and what you look like. A templar can make a good archer, and a duelist can make a good caster.
I find it best to 1st pick what attack skills you want to use. Then figure out what kind of passives will compliment your attacks. And finally pick the class that starts near those passives. Its like reverse engineering a character build. |

If you're using bows or melee weapons or spells or fist-fight only then you want to start as Templar or Marauder.

The conventional choices for 'AoE classes' are Templar and Witch, as they both start with AoE-boosting passives nearby. But these certainly aren't necessary for an AoE build. In any case it might be worth waiting to see the new passive tree before deciding.
