5 linking on 5/6s

Hello guys, do you think that better chance to link 5 link is on 6 slots or it´s same as on 5 slots? Ty for answers ;-)
pretty sure the chance for 5Linking a 6s is higher than 5Linking a 5s (with a 6s item there are 2 paths to 5L)
actually there are 4 paths for a 5L on a 6socet. I'm pretty sure that i've seen at least 3 of them in game. The 5 L can end on the bottom or the top (left and right).

so the chances are a bit higher than 4X for a 5L on 6S then a 5S because it can roll 0 links for the 1st socket and then still has a chance to roll a 5L for the next 5 sockets

Yeah, true and don't forget there's always the slim chance of a 6L when fusing a 6S item ;)

This is incorrect. There are exactly two permutations of 5L.

2 middle, 2 bottom, either left or right up top
2 top, 2 middle, either left or right at bottom

That'd be 4 :)

kk, thx for replies ;-)

That's not how links work, though. It's either the top left socket or the bottom right socket that is not linked in a 5L6S. No other possibilities other than those 2.
People incorrectly assume that the link pattern is random, with each possibility equally likely. They're not. The patterns are preset by the developers and the probability is and arbitrary assigned value. There's no way to "theory craft" this mechanic.

Pretty much this. There are two chances to get a five link on a six socket but we don't know what those chances are. They could be such that it is easier to 5 link a 5 socket item as some believe. I find that somewhat unlikely though.
