Abysses not spawning in map

I ran a Dunes map with the following selected:

- Abyss selected on the map device
- 2 abyss scarabs
- 2 abyss scarab of multitudes
- 1 abyss scarab of edifice
- Specced into abyss on the tree

Only 1 abyss spawned for the entire map. I've run a few dozen Dunes maps with the same setup and have had multiple abyss spawn in previous maps, however only having 1 seems to go against the map device selection which should spawn at least 2, and then 2 abyss scarabs spawning 1 each. I should have at least 4 each map.
