defiler map device not working on xbox 1

not sure if this is right place , i bought the defiler map device it is meant to keep kills count for you mine does not ; i watched the little video and you used a mouse to activate the ability . i am on console i dont have a mouse and can not activate the device ; is there a way to activate it on xbox 1 as thats what im on thanks in advance

m8 i have tried this several times on poe1 it does not work i cant lock onto the little symbol to activate it but i can in poe 2
