Why is a Map started on Atlas by accident (never entered) considered a 'Map Failed'? Solution!
|
To make the story short, I began an 'Untainted Paradise' Map by accident (and of course it had to be a rare Atlas node). I then waited for the Portals to close out in hopes to open it at a later time.
Yea, I know. LOL. This happens, though, ever so rarely, and when it does... it bites! However, even if something like this were not a thing by accident, a player can go AFK right after opening a Map (with every intention to run it), and something like this can still happen if/when the Portal(s) close by the time the player gets back on. ![]() Can your team add a safeguard against accidents like this vs. the game jumping to the conclusion that the Map 'failed' as if the player died in it, even though the player never entered it? (like in my case) Example + Solution: Add a 'Reclaim Waystone' button directly under where it says 'Map in progress' like in the screenshot below. When players hover their cursor over the 'Reclaim Waystone' button, it will state the following, "Warning: Waystones can be reclaimed only one time if you have not entered the Map. Entering the Map prevents you from reclaiming your Waystone." ![]() Please, and thank you! HeavyMetalGear When game developers ignore the criticism that would improve their game, the game fails. Just because a game receives a great amount of praise vs. only a small amount of criticism does not mean to call it a day and make a foolish misplaced assumption that it is perfect.
