PS controller pause not pausing game in boss rooms

Having a major problem. Using PS5 controller and hitting the Start button is horrible with proximity to pad, and 9/10 times hit pad instead of Start button.

Issue 2. Going to pad to pause the game to swap gems because i hate melee builds, does NOT pause boss or boss mechanics, but does pause all other enemies in maps????

Just died twice because of dumb mechanic.

Need 250k gold to respec character is beyond bonkers and just want to quit melee

You can't pause in boss fights (at least, most of them).

That's deliberate.

There should be a debuff icon at the top of the screen when you're in a zone that can't be paused. I don't remember what it looks like.
