Here's a couple of things I got from Google to quote
Purpose: It forces players to value survival over pure damage output, preventing easy progression to level 100. So Jonathan, what mistakes does the player make when your game glitches, bugs out and crashes that causes death all the time? that fair on the player? It shows a lack of appreciation for the players time and it shows for keeping it cemented and players getting penalised because of issues thats been part of the game since day 1. It's not about being rare to hit level 100, it's about how lucky you are to not get glitched, bugged, crashed out of the game with the erratic issues that plagues it every league. 1702 errors reported to Sony so far this league alone which is more than double of diablo 4 shambled release issues. But I do also love starting a map already dead. It's fantastic to have wasted a couple of hours building xp up to have it taken away without actually starting the map Just a suggestion to this irritating bug the xp penalty. Take it out of the game till you are confident there isn't any bugs that is gonna cause a loss of xp from your neglected unfixed issues thing that's holding it back is the backwards thinking keeping it with the issues that cause xp loss.
