Another shipment lost due to Pirate bug
|
Hi.
I asked support about this and they told me to post in the forums. I sent a shipment of crops. It got ransomed by pirates (odd, the risk bar was almost empty and when I try to force the encounter for gold with high risk I never get it). Anyway, I beat the pirate as I always do (easy encounter for an armour stacker) and when trying to leave the arena after beating the boss the game can't load the instance and I lose everything. The shipment and the crew. Because it appears that the condition to beat the encounter is not killing the boss but rather taking the portal to exit the arena. This already happened to me before. The time wasted in everything that's lost plus everything that needs to be re-invested (new crew, new crops) is too much. I ask you to, please, unlock the shipment so I can get what I was going to get, if not for the problems loading instances, and get my crew back. Thank you for your time. " They would have meant for you to post a bug report. " GGG have never performed any in-game restoration for any reason. https://www.pathofexile.com/support Having spent thousands of euros on Path of Exile over the years, I will not be further supporting it financially until and unless GGG resumes offering Technical Support.

" They told me to post in the forums and provided a few links. Since this is not a "gameplay discussion" I decided to post it here. I use the word "bug" because I don't know a better term for it, but it's just servers not loading an instance in the worst possible moment. If this belongs somewhere else I apologize to the moderation team and ask to kindly move it there. " They have restored deleted characters. I've seen it in the forums. Example: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3151642 I'm not asking to get back an item that I lost, or to revive an HC character. Just to unblock something that's unfairly blocked. Meaning it's still there, in the game, it's just blocked due to a server issue. If that cannot be done it cannot be done but you see why I ask, right? There's no point on me playing a grinding game that can cause me to lose several days of grind for a mistake that's not on my end. It already happened once and I took the L. Twice just means it can very likely happen again which makes the grinding pointless. |

" Truth be told, I hadn't noticed you using the word bug. GGG hasn't provide Technical Support for close to a decade, so they wouldn't have told you in an email to post in that section to receive an in-game restoration of some kind. If you tell them you have some kind of in-game issue, the only thing the Support team will do is try to make it QA's problem. They won't do anything regarding it themselves, but they want it out of their queue. " Well, yes - but that doesn't contradict the page I linked you to. For better or wose they've carved out an exemption for character deletion (but not character deaths) and character names, which they view as being pseudo-account issues. In terms of Kingsmarch shipping, they would very much fall down on the side of those being items - abstracted away in the UI or otherwise - rather than something for Support to address. Having spent thousands of euros on Path of Exile over the years, I will not be further supporting it financially until and unless GGG resumes offering Technical Support.

" Thank you for taking the time to explain. I see it with a different perspective now. In my mind I figured it was just about going to my account and set the status of the shipment from 'commandeered' to 'on its way' or something like that but I see how can it all just be part of "items lost due to a bug" category. Although I still think that the scope of this "bug" is bigger than something like losing a blighted map's loot or the contraband from a heist. This is days of grind. It's one step away from just having my stash wiped out and having to shrug it off. Either way, I'll wait a few days for an official response before uninstalling. Just in case. Thanks again and sorry for the rant. Cheers. |

For reference, it has been like this since summer 2024 when Settlers first launched and has been reported hundreds or more times already. So I would not expect any official response in the next few days.
From recollection, I only recall 2 changes ever made regarding the Kingsmarch bosses in that time. Portal moved further away (accidentally leaving the zone prematurely) and you're supposed to get a warning regarding abandoning shipments. Neither of which address the DC/instance crash issue sadly. " Tragic. I don't know why they don't code it so the condition to free the ship is to kill the boss, not exit the portal. Oh well, thanks a lot for the heads up! |
