Tectonic Slam of Cataclysm still bugged with generals cry
|
Neither the damage nor the AoE/amount of branches changes no matter the amount of endurance charges as long as the skill is triggered with generals cry.
Both actual damage (tested ingame on a boss) as well as the tooltip dps stayed the same at 0 and at 10 endurance charges while using the skill with generals cry, self casting the skill works as intended and increases both AoE and tooltip dps based on the amount of charges held at the time. I have found no mention of intentionally disabling the charge interaction for generals cry clones and the skill used to be bugged in the same way for self-cast but that has since been fixed. And since a similar skill like Consecrated Path of Endurance works in basically the same way and the AoE, actual damage and tooltip of that skill go up based on the charges held while using generals cry i assume that it is a Tectonic Slam related bug and not intentional. confirm this too. there's another thread about it. no word from GGG whether it's a bug or a feature.

It's working as intended, convoluted, but intended.
Each clone uses a copy of your skill once, including all of temporary buffs that apply to you at the moment of use. Consecrated Path and Tectonic Slam work differently related to charges and that difference comes into play with general's cry Consecrated Path buffs the skill itself based on number charges you have, so clone's copy gets buffed as well. It also has this part about consuming a charge to bypass CD, but this doesn't matter for clones because they have their own cooldown not tied to yours. Tectonic slam consumes endurance charges when used to boost this specific skill *use*. So when a clone uses a tectonic slam it tries to consume endurance charges from the actor using the skill - clone, not you. If your clones would somehow get endurance charges - those would be consumed and skill use would be boosted appropriately |

Before the whole bug of Tectonic slam not consuming charges and all and that bug getting "fixed" it worked just fine for the clones from generals cry.
After that "fix" the skill was actually bugged for both self cast and generals cry in that it wouldnt do anything with endurance charges, that since got fixed for self cast as i said, while generals cry is still not working. So when a skill goes from working to not working, to then only working again for self cast without there being any mention of it being intentional to not work for generals cry anymore i am going to believe its not intentional and therefore a bug. Multiple people have claimed so, i have tested it ingame and there is no reason why one skill that works with endurance charges in exactly the same way (scaling aoe and damage) works and one does not, since even if they dont spend all the charges at once, clones using Consecrated Path of Endurance still need to access charges somehow, same as Tectocnic slam. So no, it cannot be "working as intended" since it quite literally does not work at all anymore when before they bricked the skill completely it worked just fine. But i do understand your point, they are considered proxies which means they use the skill with the players stats, which is why it would logically make sense that Consecrated Path of Endurance can work since its condition is just to HAVE those charges and not to SPEND them, but the issue is still that it used to work before and now it does not with no mention of why. The most straightforward idea is that they simply reworked the skill as to before it just checked how many charges you have, used the skill with its effects and then deleted your charges, which would mean clones could use it just fine in the same way Consecrated Path of Endurance works, minus the removal of charges afterwards. And now after the changes the skill simply checks how many charges it removed and then goes into applying effects based on that, which since it removes none from the player means it does nothing. If that is not the case then theres no reason for one skill to work and one to not work since the minions would have to count as having charges then instead of the player. Stats on the skill itself say "gain stuff for each charge consumed". No charges being consumed means no gains.
Actually number going up in your character screen is a good indication of what works with GC and what doesn't because it's kinda is what clones are copying as their skill to use - stats and such Consecrated Path damage there reflects gains from charges because it's just stats being converted one into another - number of charges into damage in this case Tectonic Slam doesn't reflect change in damage from charges because it's a conditional effect and isn't calculated beforehand So I'm sorry bro, but I believe that this working during previous Phrecia WAS the bug, the fix that 'bricked the build' was this: "Fixed an issue where Tectonic Slam of Cataclysm sometimes scaled from Endurance Charges without removing them." Sounds like clones scaling off your charges without consuming them fall into that category quite firmly I hope you've had your fun while it lasted, but dissociating from "it used to work and it was OP and we all liked it" and just looking carefully at stat and skill descriptions currently in-game makes more sense to me for tectonic slam of cataclysm not to work with gc clones |

"That's correct but the wiki says: "When combined with General's Cry, Mirage Warriors will spawn with the same number of Endurance Charges as you which can be consumed by Tectonic Slam of Cataclysm without affecting the player. The Mirages will benefit from all of the stats on the skill by consuming their own charges." I don't know though why would they get your charges on spawning, that's not what proxies generally do. I've never played this build so had to find some videos with gameplay to check whether the mirages had charges before: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eRaV5JODIuE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b5U_DbQ4eTo I couldn't spot any charges orbiting the mirages. "The mirages are not supposed to scale off your charges at the first place (when attacking with Tectonic Slam of Cataclysm). If this really was the case and was fixed, GGG just didn't properly document it. |
