Stand alone version of POE 2 wont recognize my steam version

Please help how do I get stand alone POE 2 to recognize my game files in steam?
My steam account is linked to POE1/2

Whenever i try to launch the stand alone version is starts trying to download the entire game.

google says to move a content.gppk file but this simply does not exist. I really don't want to download it again, and i also don't want to have two lots of the data for the game on my drive.

how can I make it recognize it?

Standalone PoE 2 is just that - standalone. It cannot be used with Steam and requires the full download to use.

(PoE on Steam is packaged differently and does not have content.gppk file)
