Does rarity stack when in group?

Does rarity stack when you are in a group? or does it add a percentage depending on how many are in the group

The rarity starts on items only count for the person that did the last hit of damage. That's why duos are pretty common, one character will be really strong, the other will have a bunch of rarity gear and either use cull to kill weakened enemies, or use gravebind gloves so when a monster dies they get the kill credit and their rarity applies.
There is also an extra global bonus applied to everyone for each additional person in the party. |

Solo, you clear your broken OP temple once, get 10 div. Go and hire 5 leechers, same run is now 30 div or more (and a ton of low tier ex for your leechers to pick up). This loot system is really shortsighted, yet it wasn't changed since early poe1. Only rarity numbers occasionally drift without critical impact on the whole picture. Edit: as for "but 5 leechers make combat 6x harder for you", this is where busted builds come in. Poison pathfinder wipes bosses in 3 sec regardless of party size.
