Love the Vaal League
|
I first ignored the vaal temple and just focus on builds. but after diving into guide and learning and exploring it, i find myself so addictive to it, not to mention the crazy reward coming after and gets better.
here's what i think where the league is beating the endgame mapping: mapping, regardless of how many variations you add, it's always the same pattern, clear monsters, kill boss. you do collect stuff to other things like drops, craft, other content, but itself feels very repetitive and not going anywhere. vaal temple is fundamentally different, it's random, it's progressive, it's organic, it's tempting. once you get hooked, you don't wanna do any other content anymore. eventuallt the pattern clears and gets old, but for a fourth mouth cycle, ppl who got hooked won't just quit after week 2. definitely include this into the game, and improve the incoming endgame change based on this. maybe they are already doing it, and testing water with the vaal temple before actually deploying the endgame change. i'm highly sensitive to patterns. i think this is a big step forward for the game, despite the recent exploit drama. many might not see it. keep it up. gonna go build my snake now. but i do hope it doesnt take 60 maps to do a satisfying vaal run. I think the temple has more soul than Abyss, and has more rough edges than Abyss. It needs a lot of work before going core, but I hope it eventually does. The temple tileset might be the most immersive environment in the entire game.
Evasion-only melee character that can kill Ubers with cheap gear (SSF Rise of the Abyssal), no armor, no energy shield, 62k eHP:
